The shipment process with Get Routed is meticulously planned and executed. Once you book your shipping slot by paying a deposit and completing the reservation form, you will be informed of the specific dates for delivering your bike to our depots in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane. We then manage the transport of your motorcycle in secure containers, handle customs clearances, and ensure your bike arrives safely at its destination, whether it’s Barcelona, Felixstowe, or Christchurch, New Zealand.
Get Routed offers motorcycle shipping services to and from several key destinations, including the UK, Europe, and New Zealand. Our service routes are particularly popular for motorcyclists looking to tour Europe, with key depots located in Barcelona and Felixstowe.
Your bike must be spotless when packed into the container, especially when returning to Australia, as per Quarantine Service requirements. The petrol tank should have less than 2 litres of fuel, and the bike should be in neutral and unlocked. Additionally, the battery leads must be disconnected and insulation taped, and any removable panniers should be unlocked and appropriately wrapped for protection during transit.
It is your responsibility to be at the Felixstowe depot on or before the return loading date. However, we understand that delays can happen. The first three days of storage at Felixstowe, Barcelona & Christchurch, NZ are free, but you will need to arrange for collection promptly after that to avoid additional storage fees. Detailed instructions, including the depot addresses, will be provided, along with your balance of payment invoice.
No, insurance for your motorcycle is not included in the shipping costs. You will need to arrange your insurance to cover your bike during transport. Our previous arrangement with an insurance provider is being updated, and we can assist you in finding suitable coverage through our recommended broker, Bernie Ryan.
Get Routed requires a minimum of 10 bikes for any return shipment. If there are less than 10 bikes for Melbourne or Brisbane those bikes will go to Sydney. In such cases, it will be your responsibility to arrange transportation from that depot to your final destination.
Yes, Get Routed can transport your empty suitcase from Barcelona to Felixstowe, where it will be stored until you drop your bike off at the end of your trip. It’s essential to label your suitcases with your name and bike registration number clearly to ensure they are easily identifiable and safely returned to you.
A $600 (for Europe & the UK, $500 for New Zealand) deposit is required to secure your booking. This deposit is non-refundable but may be rolled over to a future shipment, under certain conditions. The balance of the cost is due no later than one month before your bike’s shipping date. We accept bookings up to six weeks before the shipping date, though earlier reservations are highly recommended to secure your spot.
Ensure that any riding gear, such as jackets, pants, gloves, boots, and helmets, is packed dry in your panniers. Moisture in your gear can lead to mould growth, so it’s crucial to pack items properly to avoid unpleasant surprises when you unpack at your destination.
Our motorcycle shipping process is designed to be straightforward and stress-free. We don’t use crates; instead, your bike is securely strapped into one of our custom-built motorcycle shipping cradles within the container. This method ensures that your bike is handled with care and avoids the need for unnecessary crating, which can be time-consuming and costly. Once your bike is securely loaded, it’s container shipped to your chosen destination, where we handle all customs clearances and logistics.

We don’t accept crated motorcycles for several reasons: uncrating and recrating are time-consuming, we lack the storage space for crates during your bike’s journey, and our shipping method is specifically designed to avoid the need for crating altogether.
